Our popular free standing climbing wall can transform an unused space into a fun, attractive climbing facility. It is available with a number of size, style and landing surface options.

On behalf of the Friends we would like to thank you for this, it was far and away better than we had expected and has proven extremely popular from the day it was installed. It is a fabulous piece of kit.

Wall styles

Natural Timber

Using solid timber we have created a surface style with a rustic, natural appearance. The precision machined slats are pressure treated for a long lifespan, and provide an attractive base for the colourful climbing holds.

Smooth with artwork

We can create colourful artwork on the wall that will make a big impression! Usually we base the designs on pictures and drawings from the school pupils or organisation members, giving them a true sense of ownership. The design is painted onto top quality marine plywood to withstand the elements for a long time to come.

Landing surfaces

The following safety surfacing options are available with this wall:

Grass Matting

For grassy areas, our "honeycombed" rubber matting combines the natural cushioning of grass with rubber, providing an effective safety surface whilst protecting the grass from the continual wear and tear.

Play Bark

Play bark is a completely natural surfacing solution, and has been widely used in playgrounds for decades. It is relatively cheap, replaceable and will require occasional re-distribution as it moves around.

Rubber Crumb

Rubber crumb surfacing is a durable safety surface for use on solid ground such as tarmac or concrete.

Rubber Mulch

An innovative system that has the appearance of traditional play bark - but made of rubber! This provides three times more effective cushioning with the option of bonding the chippings so they can't be kicked around.

Rubber Mulch is available in a range of colours and natural wood shades.

Long lasting treated (tanalised) timber construction
Attractive, natural timber surfacing, stained to create a pattern
Loads of climbing holds in a variety of shapes and sizes
Three coloured routes (normally red, blue and yellow)
Stainless Steel hold bolts to minimise seizing due to rust
Holds can be moved around to create new routes and challenges
3D volumes on the wall add to the variety
Suitable safety surfacing surrounding wall (see landing surfaces)
Fully standards compliant to BS EN 1176-1:2008
